Update...After an interview and an email of a few shots we got the front page of the next issue of the paper.

After our last urban jib session, we obviously left the snow by the rail. This without knowing starting a local frenzy as people were freaked out by seeing snow in an islolated area. The Met Office were called to see if it had snowed in the area, or what might have caused it. The Council were consulted to see if any film crews had staged a shoot. Local people were baffled as the press considered it to be the coldest zone in Hemel Hempstead. Got to love it.

It appears someone spotted us at the scene after the paper had come out. They said two guys were hanging around with some canisters to "lay the snow"??

SNOW MYSTERY DEEPENS IN HEMEL
Updated Thursday, January 19. More information on the Adeyfield snow mystery has been sent in to Hemeltoday today.
First, we rece4ived this message: "I think the snow was artificial. I live at property abutting the field and early on Sunday morning two men were using a so-called snow slope as practise with their snow boards. Presumably they had used canisters to 'lay the snow'. It had gone by the next day. The men disappeared when the dog walkers arrived."

Then this one from Will Ryder in Hemel: "I was also stunned when last sunday morning while driving to work i spotted what i initially thought was some kind of salt. "I stopped turned around and drove back to what i'd just seen however when i arrived at the spot and looked closer at the strange white substance it became clear it wasn't salt but a very fine wet sort of powder, it was also very weird to the taste i only dabbed the end of my tongue with a small amount but it gave me the strangest feeling i couldn't work out what this stuff was so i left to go to work. "While in the car about ten to fifteen minutes into the journey i started to feel very excited and very happy i also couldn't stop smiling/laughing! "In my 48 years of life i have never experienced any thing like it it was like a constant head rush thats the only way i can explain it! "

Colin Trevillion emailed Hemeltoday on Wednesday with this message:
"Re your article on the mysterious snow on Adeyfield Road, I too saw this on Sunday evening and could not understand it either. Having driven past and noticed it I came back with my 9 year old son Ross and we got out to check it and yes it was real snow.
"I drive past there regularly and could not understand how if it was there since just after christmas I had not noticed it before. I don't think that a lot of sun gets to that area as it's shielded by trees but find it hard to believe it has been there for 3 weeks. I'm afraid though that on Tuesday evening I think it has all gone."

Original report from Monday:

A woman out for a walk spotted snow lying on the ground in Adeyfield on Sunday.
It hasn't snowed in the area since just after Christmas and temperatures have been well above freezing, so where did the snow come from? Kathleen Quinlan emailed us these photos today and asked: "I have just returned home from a walk and noticed with amazement some snow lying on a path in the field next to Primrose Engineering in Adeyfield Road opposite the Midland Hotel. How it got there I don't know. Any ideas?" She adds that is was defenitely real snow and wonders if perhaps a film company were shooting in the area. Can anyone help solve the mystery? Is this spot a real frost hollow that can last for over two weeks? Is it the coldest spot in Hemel?
